What is water baptism and why is it important? Following faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the new convert is commanded by the Word of God to be baptized in water in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Mark 16:16; Acts 8:12, 36-38; 10:47-48). Water baptism is an outward expression of what Jesus has done inside of a believer’s life. It is the way that we go public with our faith to express to our family, friends, and those around us the change that has taken place on the inside of us when we gave our life to Jesus.
At Impact Church we set aside Sundays throughout the year for followers of Jesus to take their next step through water baptism…We call these special weekends Made New Weekend. Every person being baptized will receive their own baptism shirt and we will provide towels as well.
